I think “deserves” is a weird way of phrasing it. But since you asked:
No.
The anime that we got was pretty great. There were parts where it vastly improved upon the manga (especially in the first half, and with Crona’s story in the second half). And of course there were parts of it that straight-up sucked. But any 52-episode series is going to have some uneven quality, that’s a given.
Of course there are parts of the manga that I wish we could see animated. And I, like pretty much everyone else, am still nursing leftover nerd-rage that the anime wasn’t faithful to certain parts of the manga (the original Maka-vs.-Clown story comes immediately to mind - goddamit, Bones!). But at the end of the day? I don’t care if we never get another Soul Eater anime.
If we do get a second anime, not gonna lie, I’ll be pretty psyched about it. But if we don’t, I won’t be sad about it either. (*shrug*) C’est la vie.
